Mary Ann's Angel Strudel ...
You have to see this to believe it.
Mary Ann's Angel Strudel
We say Mary Ann's Angel Strudel is a schizophrenic dessert because it does not know what it really is. It is a nut roll but it is wrapped in a flaky, buttery strudel crust, the nuts are soaked in cherry juice, it contains cherry bits, and Angel Food cake. (Don't worry. There are a few “secret” ingredients.)
During the first few bites you feel a variety of textures, flaky, crunchy, and chewy. Then you taste nuts, cherries, buttery sweetness, and Angel Food cake. Mary Ann’s Angel Strudel is an amazing dessert. It is not decadent, like Tullia's Truffles, but no other single dessert brings so many textures and tastes with it. Everyone has one of two reactions when they first try it. They either smile, maybe putting their hand to their mouth so none of the strudel escape, or their eyes widen and they make this "Ummmmm" sound, or both. Please, think about Mary Ann’s Angel Strudel for your next festive ocassion
